Ok I think , I should have posted without reading slantzillas post now I'm :x Ok over that. PowerPipe stock motor dyno testing. Prevails with gain :D , On paper!!! with an increase of Torque and Horsepower. Track test 60' better makes sense, with the torque increase on the dyno. We will be testing the PowerPipe-DC soon, and will let yall know what happens. They don't have to be long to be strong. Have a great day all Don

Why not end this by posting up the prices, time slips, dyno sheets, videos, etc.. Talk is cheap, lets see some proof. Make me believe that you're product is worth the $$$. Until you post proof, you're just another Spitfire Harold.

SHOW US REAL PROOF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm like Fox Mulder here, I want to believe. The truth is out there. Trust no one.

I always try to think the best of people, at least until they show me that it's undeserved. I really think the problem here is that we have a prototype and the final price is not set and the testing is not complete, perhaps not even started. Someone who was deliberately trying to mislead could easily post plausible appearing 1/4 mile times and/or dyno results but we haven't seen that. It appears to me that the product just isn't quite ready and the announcement was premature. This thread probably ought to just die until something is really ready to be announced.

I disagree. Mister Twister has stated that the first production batches are already made. He claims to have received orders for them (despite having never stated a price). It's pretty clear he's jerkin' us around.

Read up the thread: He stated his intention to do dyno testing and not to post the results. Oh, but he did post a useless video of the back end of a running A-body.

........Waiting for anyone that has ordered this..."piece" (without knowing the price apparently) to speak up ? If my previous choice of words is not accurate please understand I have trouble expressing myself while trying to choke down half-baked cla(i)ms. I'm hard pressed not to dismiss out of hand,ANYONE who uses 'what ever' as response to a reasonable question, I would consider that an insult. Hope this helps. :D

Well, yeah...notice I said he claims to have received orders. The claim read to me as a sort of "Everyone's doing it!" bit of hype. I'm sure if anyone had actually ordered one of these, he'd've stepped up and posted "I just bought one, we'll see how it works when it arrives" or something. But, astoundingly enough, that hasn't happened!

Whatever  I have this inate and nearly irresistable trait to a) look for the best, and b) act as a peacemaker. Trouble with that, as anyone who has intervened in a dogfight knows, is that it sometimes results in a beating. Oh well, I just can't help myself.

I actually kind of like the design, but I know that it will not live up to the grand claims he has made. His telling us he was going to post dyno numbers and then backing out was the last straw for me. :?

Trust me, after getting hosed off by Anthony Jones and Spitfire Harold I have no use for snake oil salesmen.

Also, I have taken many lumps trying to be the good guy in a dog fight. The only one who I am after here is Mr. Twister, and all I ask for is proof. Nothing more, nothing less. :D

With a fancy name like powerpipe, who needs proof? Come on, I bet it comes with a powerpipe sticker to put on your window which is worth an extra 5hp! (Maybe the sticker adds more hp then the powerpipe itself)

Mr Twister...

I have brought products to market for 30 years. (non automotive).

I have a patent on one of my products.

I have a new product almost ready for market.

I have been testing that product for 8 years in as many real world situations as possible.....including flying it at MATS.

If there is one thing I have learned about new products it is that you have to do a ton of testing or you will be plagued by comebacks and bad press.

Run the POWERPIPE on your car and astound people with its performance . When they beg you for one have a price ready and product in boxes ready to ship. Once a few are out there do some back to back testing and THEN do your marketing.

Bring one item to market at a time....or risk being confusing.

Dump the hype and hype ridden product name......they will only bring you the customers you dont want.....appeal to the customers you do want.

The way you are going about this indicates a lack of business acumen that scares many off.

FYI, "Fweem" is the term used among the aircooled VW community for that particular sound. It has a verb form as well: fweem, fweeming fweemed.

(Sorry for the delay, I somehow missed this last week)

The "PowerPipe" looks to me like some old '50s backyard technology. I've seen similar stuff on traditional hot rods here and there. I really don't think they'd be any better than a stock manifold. Certainly not better than Doug's manifolds or similarly modded stocker.
Just my $.02.

I have seen and held the power pipes in my very own hands. Both the single and duel manifold. The design and quality is rat rod technology  Very small exhaust runners dumping into the log and they are just stuck in there and welded up. The log is capped and welded on both ends and the welds appear to be ground down with a grinder to achieve a smooth look on the outside. Just don't look on the inside. The exhaust flange looks like a piece bought from a local auto parts store and welded on. The Power Pipes are being sold by Mopars By Crane out of Bradington Florida. A hefty selling price of $350 for either manifold. Someone with a welder and some sprinkler pipe can make up a set and give Power Pipes a run for their money :D I hate to bash someone for trying to develope and market new parts for the slant 6 but the $350 selling price and quality don't match up. Still no dyno results

Thank you Brian for an honest opinion of the real product. Your description makes it look even more like snake oil.
