One thing you have to remember, the farther from stock your engine is, the wider the spread will be between long headers, short headers, and Dutra Duals, especially if you start turning over 5000 rpm.
I am planning to run a four barrel, clifford intake, a ton of head work with oversized valves and 10.4 compression with a big ol' clifford cam.

will the hookers mate at all with a clifford intake?

how much of a spread in horsepower and time have you seen?

Hookers will not fit in my chassis.
I have a 75 duster, manual everything. hope to move up to a five speed over my 3 in the floor. Do you see any potential problems? I also have an 8 3/4 rear........

I am basically interested in the hookers solely because I don't want the shorties from clifford, I want the old long pair that I used to have, but clifford quit making them.

You will have to check, one tube may hit an intake runner, but you can easily splice a piece in to change the direction of the tube. IIRC, it would be the back tube. I could be confusing Hookers with my MP though. I know Mike has Hookers and a Clifford in the 68 Valiant.

They should fit your Duster with all manual stuff, you may have to tweek the clutch linkage a little though.

It's cooler in Florida than it is here. 92* for a high today, it' 102* here. Calling for 3-4 days next week of 100+ no rain in sight. The leaves on the trees along I-40 are burning.

How is the ground clearance with the Hooker headers? Anyone currently running them?

Slantzilla, you said the Hooker's won't fit your chassis. Can you remind me what chassis that is and what interferes?

I'm hoping the Hooker's will fit my '67 Valiant and not kill the ground clearance. I supposed if Mike's running them I should ask him?

I have the 66 chassis.

IIRC, Mike's are not too close to the ground, but his front end is kinda high because he runs very tall front tires.

We put a set of the 3 into 1 Hooker headers on a "71 Dart with an automatic and power steering with no clearance issues that I remember. We were also able to use the larger starter. We initially put it on with an Offy 4 barrel intake. Again, no issues. The headers did not sit too low for a street car in my opinion. The car had regular size 14" front tires.

That car just got sold and is on its way to PA... The guy is apparently going to build it into something other than a Slant 6 car. I wish I would have pulled off the good Slant 6 stuff before it rolled... Oh well.

I have to be careful going over speed bumps. The mounting flange is thinner than the intake flange. You will have to adapt for that.

The MP header had 1/4" nuts welded to the flange where the washers go.

do you happen to have pictures of the said modifications? im planning on doing the same. you did say that it was fine, not too low, but we may have different perceptions of how low it is.
