Just making sure i have all the tools ready to switch the third member at the track. Will i have to totally disassemble the brakes to get the axel to slide out far enuf or can i just remove the upper springs and the bar?
Thanks for any help!

No, you will not have to dis-assemble the brakes to swap center sections on an 8 3/4.
You will need an extra gasket and a few razor blades to scrape the old gasket off.

I will bring my special oil pump "can" to the Redding... getting the gear oil back in is the hardest part of the job.

Axle tube seals and bearing retainer gaskets--
I almost always replace those too when I'm in a 8.75........
just depends on what the old ones look like.

Doc;
you are trying to make it way too easy. I am still using the manual pump on the gallon jug. Oh well, guess I am still too old school or to lazy to find and put together what you described at the last Redding meet.
Looks like a lot of us will be swapping third members, Oh the fun.
