well, it has come time in my restoration project to start putting trim back on, or at least start thinking about how I'm going to do it.

Now, normally the 64 Dart GT's side chrome trim is held on by about 120 nylon snap clips, 99.9% of these disintegrated on me when I wsa trying to get the trim off in the first place and replacement clips (if you can find them) are about $1 per clip. Not exactly something I like the sound of.

But some parts of the trim are held on by metal stud fasteners similar to the ones you can get at local auto part stores. Problem is the ones you can get there are #10-24 x 3/4" and only work if you heavily modify them and by that point they too go to pieces on you.

So, I'm looking to find some of the metal stud fasteners found on parts of the side trim already. I have some deminsions and pics (I'll post the pics once I can figure out just how to do that).

The dimensions are:

Plate: 5/16" x 13/16"

with a stud length of: 9/16"

They used a speed nut at the factory so I'm not entirly sure of the thread specs.

Thanks for the help. Would like to start seeing some trim on this Dart.

P.S. if you know how to embed or post pics please let me know so I can post the pics as well to help out.

wonderful, thanks for the info so far. I'll have to check out the restoration specialties when I get some time to go through their catalog. If they don't have what I need I saw something on the ebay store that might work with some minor modification.

Thanks again!
