Drop base wont help - Carb hits underside of bonnet without aircleaner fitted.

Why I asked about images off 225's instead of 170's, was to see if there were any mods the dealers had to make to accomodate for the extra block height of the 225.

So far I'm thinking either a 4bbl throttle body, or pull my nice neat Regal bonnet off and cut in to one off a wreck, just to play around with the HyperPak.

I'm just not a fan of having gaping holes through the bonnet that tend to attract the attention of men with blue lights and badges,.... It's loud enough as it is.

:-)

Pid, have you tried a 1/4" or so shim under the R/H engine mount?

Nope - I spent the better part of a day lifting and reseating the engine/mounts on the K-frame to get the motor square, so that the carby mounting flange on the inlet manifold was sitting flat (mainly so the floats/bowl arrangement in the carb works properly).

Having an engine crane at home is a real help,...
So is having the space to jack and level the car.
(The photo above wasn't taken at home, but in the garage of a family member whose house I was looking after for a couple of months)

'course, since then I ditched the 2bbl Carter for twin webbers while I do the prep work for the HyperPak and my 5-speed.
