How can I find out if my slant is the original to my Satellite?

Part of the VIN number should be stamped on a pad under the #5&6 spark plugs. It will be a pad just like the one the CI number is stamped on at the front of the block.

I looked but did not see a number or any type of marking. The only numbers are on the left side ( intake side).

The pad is actually a flat on top of the block that extends from under the head, facing straight up. You will probably have to scrape the sludge off of it to see it. The numbers are stamped, not cast, and aren't real big. :D

I believe I have found it. Its position makes it really hard to see. I am going to try to use a camera to get a picture since I can not get a strait line of sight.

Yes, both the serial pad and the CI pad can be tough to find. :D
