i need some impute, just finished cleaning the engine and reinstalling crank/pistons/cam/timing gear, left the cam bearing were it was about 3/4in of it mark to line with oil hole .the top oil hole was easy just drill straight through then chamfer the new hole with a durr.the oil hole to the crank was trouble ,i drilled until i broke though the bearing surface then used a round burr the smooth the hole but the only thing is the hole is more a slot about 1/2in long were the drill bit went along the back of the bearing,do anybody see this causing any problems.oh i did blow air through with cam installed and turn it and air was passing through.thanks :?:

A longer oil feed hole is not a problem as long as there is a seal at the cam bearing to journal. (You don't want excess oil pressure loss)
I always grind the back-side of the cam bearings to get more oil flow down to the main and rod bearings.

doug i didnt want to remove the bearing because it looks like it stoped in the same position that the stock bearing did when it spun.the hole to the head looks fine but the hole in the main oil feed passage looked like what you have done only it on the bearing face side,i don't think i will lose oil pressure pass the bearing but the flow might be increased to the valvetrain because of the how long the slot is,what do you think?

Don't worry about it, the oil will only flow thru the cross-hole when it is "uncovered" at both ends.
Seeing that only one of the two holes is now elongated, there should be no change in the amount of oil to the rocker arm shaft.

now i know what a top fuel team goes through, had everything ready to go so i primed the engine no intake or excessory, oil pressure went to 40lbs but nothing coming from rockers, removed the engine striped it down again to find rear cam bearing moved again, this is a new set only put in 2 weeks ago, called and a new over size are 1 week away, so i pulled an old one from old block and installed it had to clean the burred up edges and i clean both surface a put 5min epoxy before the bearing went in then sanded surface untill cam spun freely, will it all back together fire it up and had oil to rockers ,i just hope this holds for this last weeking of racing, wish me luck i`ll need it.

old bearing held perfect, but i still hurt head gasket on #1 cyl,i removed the to 600`s and installed a 750 but forgot to pull the power valve and put in a plug and jet up after talking to charlie i hope that was my lean condition i will find out this next weekend.never new a blower would keep the power valve closed unless it is boost referenced,

That is not necesasarilly so, but it could under certain conditions. The smaller the carb the more likely this could happen. Also at a less then full throttle acceleration.
