Just came back from a test drive after getting my cooling system back together and adjusting the valves. The rodded out radiator, new water pump and hoses should keep the engine cool. The exhaust valves were tight like someone adjusted them to .010" lash. The idle is better now, but still not perfect. I really should check my dwell and timing. It does run down the road very well though.

I'm hitting the road tomorrow morning about 6 or 7 am. Hope to get to somewhere near Sacramento tomorrow night.

Amost there.....

:D

Glad to hear your car is behaving Josh! See you tomorrow!

It'll be great to meet you David!

Andrew, how's your car doing? Stopping I hope!

I drove the Valiant into work today. I still have work to do with the jetting. I had it pretty well in the middle of the road as far as primary mixture goes, then drove the 20 miles to work. It seems to be dropping off lean at cruise after a while, and economy is terrible. Not good. It seems to like the 600 for power, but it's a thirsty bugger. I may make it a late night tonight, tuning and tweaking on it.

Is calling the car a '74 going to cause problems on Saturday, or is it still our show?

CJ

I'll be on the road early Friday morning. I think that it is about an eight hour drive for me. I'll be cruising in the green dart. No worries about a convertible this time.
I'm thinking that I will check in to the windmill first then find my way to the track. I have directions in my pocket.

I pack the Dacuda tonight, including an engine block for Josh, we will really be 'low riding' our way up to Medford!
I have to work 1/2 day tomorrow before hitting the road, we will stay with some friends Friday night so we will see everyone on Saturday morning.
