Where the heck is the hood release on a 1969 Plymouth Valiant? I bought one a week or so back & repairing the body work but I have to get under the hood and can't work out how to get in there.... Doh, Homer moment!!!

You're looking for a lever (looks like a piece of sheetmetal) under the grille (passenger side I think, been a while since I worked on my mom's 68...and the 67 is in a different spot than either of those). After the hood pops, you have the 'duck tail' in the middle of hood with the final latch to release hood.

That brought back memories of my poor '76 Feather Duster just before I bought it, the passenger side of the grille was busted and the plastic shreds were lying on the grass in front of it... I asked the owner while inspecting it "What Happened?"

Response: "Oh the neighbor kid just came over with a stick and started jabbing the grille. I shoo'd him off though..."

My Repsonse: "Well that takes 100 bux off of my original offer...."

His look :

The good part about mopars, is once you know where the lever is, you pretty much don't forget it (sometimes it un-nerves people when you can walk up and ask to pop the hood and see what's under there... and just walk over and do it like it was your car....)

good luck,
