You can also do the job yourself with the Isky tool.

Several of the racers have done this.

I think the Drakes, Hambys, Cameron Tilley, Coxes, etc have done it on NA, boost, and N2O motors. Cameron Tilley has o-rings on his turbo motor (up to 22lbs boost and 720HP) - just the block, IIRC.

Tilley has put o-rings on that just hit the fire ring on a nice Aussie composite gasket, which he says works well over 12:1 comp. I think his turbo motor has the copper gasket, though.

I had my 170 turbo block is "O"-ringed. But that was about 20 years ago. A race machine shop did the work, and I don't remember the specs. I do remember the wire is stainless steel. It has never been replaced. I am now using the Cox Bros copper gasket.

charlie i was told that it takes 3 to6 hrs to set up and cut 6 grooves in a milling machine does that sound about right to you, if it is buying to tool myself would problably be cheaper,no local shop has a 0-ring tool. :?:

That time does not seem unreasonable to me. If you are only going to do one block, it might be better to rent the Isky "groove-o-matic" for $60. I did not see a Purchase price listed on that page.
