Why don't you write a book on slant six performance? You could also include sections on driveline mods and swaps. Some of the other guys on this and other sites could contribute. I'll buy the first copy.

Trysix

The trans is still broke and I might need to get professional help(shrink) to make up my mind on a swap.

In the "for what's it's worth" department, I have printed out virtually everything I can get my hands on regarding this engine. I have contemplated approaching Doc about working together on a book. I have seen Doc mention on previous posts that it is on his "to do" list. If Doc would like to email me, I have a creative idea about how to pull this off that I'd like to share with him.

Hi
I am like a lot of other slanters,I got Franks Book which has some info but not into detail as a book only on the mighty Slant.
I have several different Hot Rod mags with slants that i have bought searching ebay etc.
When i need some info i hate trying to find out which Mag.it was in or where on the Web I have it saved.
I agree that with the members here & other sites plus ebay it could be a Hot Item.
We all know how well Doc is showing how he did things from the Timimg Cover Cam stop,to modifing a V/8 Fuel pump just for a few.People that do not own a Slant would buy a copy just because he put it out like he wanted it.
Sounds like a good winter project Doc,...........Old 6

 The Mopar Performance Engines Speed Secrets book has a lot of good info on the /6. MP also has a strictly 6 cyl engine book which includes the slant. Don't know whether it's a rehash of what's in the speed secrets book or not, as I haven't read it yet. I'd sure like to have a /6 book written by Doctor Dodge. I want him to autograph it, also. I'm serious. Nobody lives forever and I'd love to have his knowledge in an autographed, hardbound format.

Any chance that you will write a book. Hmmm 150 members, 150 sales.
What do you think? :?:

Truth is that I have more then a good start on a Slant Book.
(Big suprize)

SL6 history, Engine Block, Head Work, Oiling System, Cams, Intake/ Carb, Exhaust System, Accessories, Performance Tunning, Turbocharging/ Blowers and some engine build-up combos are all on the topic list.

What else would you like to see in a SL6 book??

I agree with Bud,Doc has forgot more on Head Work etc.than most know. The average Slanter could really use cut Heads,Valve Pockets, etc. This info is hard to come by unless you do it yourself.
A GOOD full chapter on Hi-Performance Head work with Pictures,Drawings, etc.would be woth the price of the Book alone.....Old 6

Another vote for heads. Also old discontinued speed parts, info from the old Mopar performance manuals (every edition seems to have more and more deleted info), as many casting/part #s as possible, and in the history section include slant 6 racers of each decade.

Hmmmm.....how about a page or two on "alternative uses"? It would probably take a bit of research, but it might tie in as a sub-section in the "History" chapter.
Let's see; Combines, forktrucks, hi-wheel sprayers, motor homes, boats, etc. Maybe include notes on "oddball" variations of engine parts.
