Anyone here ever try two Holley 350 CFM 2 bbls on the Offy dual intake manifold? I didn't win an auction for a pair of Weber 32/36 DGV carbs like I wanted so I'm considering other options.

Chances are I'll run one Holley 2bbl on my home made 2bbl intake until I can afford 2 more suitable carbs or EFI, but I thought I'd float the idea and see if it's been done successfully on a street car.

I have a buddy who ran 2 350's on a Slant with a home made manifold. He got it to run well, but it wasn't as fast as mine with a BBD on it.

has been done. I prefer 2 staged large 2 barrels such as webber 32-36 or even better, solex mikunis from 80'ish jap cars, or plain solex 36/36. Plenty of tuning options, interchangeable emulsion tubes, air jets, idle feeds, long list of etc.

I mean, I have done it.

while it's a cool setup, a good quadra, or a quadraclone like BMW's Solex Pierburg 4A1 carb (with small, tiny primaries and 46 mm secondaries) beats the crap out of that setup.

That's pretty much what I expected to hear. If someone asked me I would have said it's too much carb. If I really want to use the dual manifold I might put a couple of K-car throttle bodies on it and use Megasquirt.

you can use 2 webber (holley 5100 are clones) and use a small primary arrangement, like 28 mm, larger secondary, on the 36-40mm ballpark. That way works better than any 4 barrels, but you do have to do plenty of tune up. Best carbs for this setup would be AISAN jap carbs from 80's toyotas. Pain in the ass of a carb to work with and the pieces are hard to find. No biggie if you own a lathe and know your way around creative repair work. 2 TB's would make an ideal thing if you're planning on dry runners. Well, wet runners will work as well because you have a pretty even branch lenght, but... TBI is not my cup of tea. MPEFI ain't my cup of coffee, but tea I hate

Yeah, I really wanted two Weber DGVs and thought I had won a pair, but was sniped at the end of the auction. I own one DGAV already. I should just find myself another and set them up the same.

I am a big fan of the Holley 500 2bbl on an Offy or Cliff 4V intake. No muss, no fuss, and great performance/mileage. For a new setup, this really gets you up and running fast and well.

I don't have a picture of the finished product, but you can get the idea from this picture...



I'll use this with a 350 Holley and 2 1/4" exhaust and see what I can do about the Valiant's mid-low 19 second ETs. I could buy a nitrous plate too, but the clutch would likely go up in smoke. I already have a full 4bbl N2O system and the Holley 2300 plates are available for about $80.

and if you're a little fabrication prone you can make a 90 deg rotation plate and have each barrel "feeding" two banks of cyls. Great setup.
