I always change spark plugs when I change my tube o-rings...
Or is it the other way around. :wink:

The spark plug tubes are only present on cylinder heads made through 1974. '75 and up heads don't have them. But if you're working with a '74 or earlier head, sometimes the tube will be "glued" in place by the cooked O-ring. In that case, usually sticking a finger into the tube and exerting sideways pressure at the inner end will break it loose so it can be withdrawn.

Mine were extremely easy to extract. I simply removed the spark plug and stuck two fingers in the tube, gave it a wiggle and it pulled right out. I had one sticky one, behind the alternator. I just used duct tape (adhesive side out) on my finger for extra grip. Worked like a charm.
