My step dad has me worried he said my manual for my 64 dart says the valves cannot be adjusted because of hydralic lifters now if it can't its news to me so if you can straighten me out i would be thankful. The number on the side of my slant is 2463430-5

Your stepdad seems to be having trouble reading the manual correctly. Thank him for his concern and go read it yourself. Your '64 slant-6 has solid lifters; adjust them per the valve adjustment procedure.
