cheap chrome parts and after scrubbing grease and road dust off the slanter. this many sound weird but it actually runs better.

Nice cleanup work, though the car'll run better and get better mileage when you put the factory air cleaner assembly back on.

well your prolly right ... my stock air cleaner was messed up dented and mashed. so i really din't want to spend the money on a cheap chrome air cleaner but it was the fastest cheapest option.

I don't mean to nitpick because it really looks good, but I would not like having the fuel filter so close to the exhaust manifold.

That's actually the stock location for the fuel filter in '73. Not my favorite (which is described in the post about the fuel line mod) but it's not as close to the exhaust as this photo makes it look, and this location is better than the '60s location (directly above the hot manifold).
