I've bypassed the Ammeter in my 63 wagon (170,904,super six) and wired the alternator to connect straight to the battery, bypassing everything. It was great for a while, but when i check the battery with a multimeter its getting 13.5-13.7 alot of the time(charging). This condition (i think) killed the alternator and voltage regullator. (both tested bad and replaced under part warranty) Is this possible? Is hooking the Alt output direct to the battery a No No ?

Not sure I see the problem you're assuming with your readings. Those are about what you should see with the engine running...what were you expecting to see? There's nothing wrong with connecting the alternator B+ directly to the battery positive. "Replaced under warranty" suggests you are playing with "remanufactured" parts from the parts store...if so, carry a spare; they fail early and often.

Won't this eventually over charge the battery? I mean 13.7 volts is alot for a 12 volt battery over time considering that there are no accessories running besides a radio. I seem to think that but no basis in fact.

No. A "12-volt" battery's actual voltage when fully charged is 12.8 volts. Charging voltage must be higher than 12.8. The colder the battery, the higher its internal resistance, and the higher must be the charging voltage. 13.7 is just about perfect at reasonably comfortable ambient temperatures. If the line voltage with the engine running ever drops below 13.2 or so, you've got charging system problems and then your battery is not long for this world.
