Doug, have stumbled upon the opportunity to pick up a couple OEM, NOS slant pieces. Have available one aluminum, 6-bolt oil pump and one iron waterpump.
The water pump is, I assume, a rather early casting, as it does not use the steel plate between the housing and block mount. Full iron casting, surface machined with the impeller sticking out. I presume this has no significance, but just wondering if it's worth laying out any bucks for.

Most (probably all) of those iron water pumps are aftermarket pieces, not Chrysler-built units, which were mostly (probably all) aluminum...and all of the iron water pumps I've seen do have the machined surface rather than the separator plate.

Both items are common replacement parts that can be ordered through many auto parts stores.
Funny that when you order these parts today, the oil pump is made of cast iron and the water pump is die cast aluminum.
