I know this is a little early but 2008 will be my last full year of racing on the slant six circuit. After the 08 season is over I will have for sale my drag car with a enclosed 28ft. trailer with air and awning. Also will have possibly 3 engines and tranmissions along with assorted parts. Dont know what the asking price will be yet but stay tuned till year end and I will have a better idea. My retirement starts in 2009 so I will have to curtail my racing to just a few each year. My grandson gave me his 1972 skamp which I plan on fixing up and making road worthy to be able to drive to some races later. This is a real hard decision to make but this has to happen for me to be able to enjoy my retirement starting in 2009. I will post a list of everything later at the end of 2008 just wanted to get the notice out so if someone is interested we could talk this coming year.

Sorry to hear that Norm, But I know what you mean, "It was fun but now I'm done". I am planning the same thing and it is VERY hard to do. After the first of the year all my stuff will be up for sale. I started with the sale of the trailer so I can't go just ONE MORE TIME. GOOD LUCK AND GIVE I'UM HELL in 2008 !!!

Well, I guess Seymour has this group pegged and the honeymoon's over.

Sorry to hear that about both of you guys. Hope to see you at a few races from time to time in scaled down operations.

For anyone looking at Norm's "operation", it is a nice setup with a car that runs consistent 11sec 1/4 miles (no boost or n2o) and looks good doing it!

All the best,

Lou

Sorry to hear both of you guys are selling out. :( :( :(

Lou, I guess that just means we'll have to step it up some more. :D

My money situation is looking better, but I won't get any vacation time until August. :(

Come on guys...lets add not drop in numbers for 2008. Let's show Seymour that we can grow in numbers and hopefully, Norm and Romeo will be able "in retirement" to make a few races. Out West, we continue to add more new cars and races for slant6 cars. How about a East of Mississippi vs. West of Mississippr rivalry for National points...Combining both of the Eastern teams into one...then maybe in 2009, a East vs West meet at some central track...Maybe we can get Romeo and Norm to come out of "retirement" if we can make this a reality. Let's grow over the winter and get all those "bench racers" into the "fold".

Wayne, it is a long shot yet, but there is a small possibility that I may be at Vegas with a Slant car this coming year. (No, not my car, a rental)

I would love to see an East V. West race and would make special efforts to be there and get others to go. I am going to try to make a West race this year, hopefully in one of my cars. We'll see...

May entail shipping a car out and storing it there for sometime. Anyone want to house a 14sec roadracer Slanted '64 Dart out there?

Lou

Lou,

If I had the garage space your car would be welcome. That way I could check out all the sneaky stuff that's been done. As it stands my 1/2 my project cars sit outside.

Josh

So, does Seymour think the Slant 6 racing series has kinda run its course or something? Maybe I missed it, but from the number of Rookies this year and posts I read I think there is still quite a bit of interest. Maybe a different interest, but still interest.

Norm's set up is very nice and you'll be getting a National Champion operation too! 8) Hopefully it will go to someone that will keep the Slant 6 and not just swap it for a V8.

My signature block says it all... 30 months left and counting. Too bad for me Norm is selling in 2009 instead of 2010.

Wayne, Do to a medical issue I have to stay off a track (and other places) for the next few years until I get the ok to do what I want again.
By no means do I want to do this ( I may even have to relocate ) You guys are the best group that I ever had the pleasure to hang out with. This is just a slight set back, only time will tell. Again just a short delay in the game !!!!
