Price seems to have went down - 250 shipped. Not bad, but nothing to jump over after all this drama.

Some guy who's nuts, as it seems

Seriously, I did some digging and found out the Kelsey in question is none other than he of Kelsey-Hayes. See here.

In the construction biz we used to say something very level is 'dead nuts level'. We translated this to the spanish speaking member of the crew as 'nueces muertos' which ended up being our common usage. Hope this helped.

The one value I see in the power pipe set up is that you can order a set that is split, which means you can tighten those dratted manifold bolts down like they want to be instead of letting them float from side to side to accept the expansion that takes place in a stock manifold. Anything that splits the exhaust into two parts will improve the slant in this way. For a daily driver, it might be fine. You will still have to make new exhaust pipes, so your cost is going to be more like $500 or more before you are done.

It is too bad we weren't all open to a dialogue here to get a better part designed and produced. It kind of reminded me of a scene in a Kurt Vonnegut novel where a little man from outer space came to Earth to share a cure for cancer with the human race. The only problem was the place where the little man came from communicated by tap dancing a farting. When he came into the first house he saw, tap dancing and farting the information to cure cancer, he was beaten to death.

seems to me like they're tap dancing that they cure cancer, while they're really farting.

If you go back to the original thread, initially the product was well received. However, when Mr. Twister refused to give any proof of his claims about the product, or even a price, things went downhill fast. You also have to recall that he started slinging mud at Doug's products while still not giving any information about his own.

Truth is that a log style manifold is not as efficient as even a stock manifold. Yes, it could solve the issue of manifold cracking, but not when the product is a poorly made piece of expensive junk.

Good one Argentina. I read the entire thread with interest. And, I saw how things went bad. You gotta admit, that's a funny bit Kurt Vonnegut wrote. He had a way of making you laugh, and feel depressed afterwards.

manifold design - inlet and exhaust is a very interesting area indeed

A problem with a large surface area relative to the volume of the pipe is that you cool down the gases witch slows down in the process causing back pressure - if you have well designed tubular headers - have them ceramic coated to keep the underhood temps down, as well as gas velocity up - if you keep the velocity going - scavenging occur during valve over lap - if not well you loose volumetric efficiency and hence power.

If the powerpipe has got some hidden internal structure we do not know of pleases share this info

Other wise the design will cause mixture slow down due to a drop in pressure cause by the big volume of the structure - the surface area relative to volume in this case is beneficial - less heat loss per square inch per volume than with a smaller pipe BUT bigger pipe volume means as stated a decrease in pressure due to a increase in volume - Boyle's Law

So you have a slow moving gas mixture, cooling down all the time- , then being forced through a restriction again and you get back pressure buildup
Cooler denser gas etc etc etc

I could go on for hours and then of cause there is the pulse effects one can use to improve scavenging.

To make a long speech short - keep the gas velocities up - period.

And from the outside looks physics negate that possibility

THIS (PowerPipe) reminds me of THIS (VW Type 1 muffler)
