It's nice to see that there should be people bringing slants to the rase.I'm going.I live in Arizona and am going to drive my slant there. If anyone is passing by it would be cool to hook up and have a little slant parade to Vegas.I have never raced at a drag strip and my car is almost done.Hoping to get to Phoenix and try it out before going to Vegas.I get the impression that there will be plenty of you guys to help me figure it out.I plan on leaving that friday morning and it's about a 4 hour drive from my house.I really prefere to drive my car instead of trailing it,unless somethng breaks or blows up there it will make my life a little complicated.Looking forwards to meeting all you guys and gals

From Scottsdale, Mopar Collectors Guide is having a cruise caravan from the FENDER guitars on Thursday, March 27th. Some slant sixers went last year. All info is in the latest issue (Febuary 2008)

I went up in the caravan from Scotsdale last year. I don't know if I'll do that this year. Where do you live, Pockets? We might be able to work something out.

My son Allen and I will be going, we usually leave the SF Bay Area on Thursday night and drive most of the night.
"Drive-a-longs" are always welcome.

Fopar, Josh and I will be motoring to Reno to meet up with Sandy and Wicked/Six at his place. We'll motor south from there.

We plan to leave Oregon Wednesday, and depart Wicked/Six' place in Reno on Thursday.

Andrew? Doug? Wanna motor over to Reno and head south on the back roads? :D Anybody else?

Entry is $75? What's camping run?

Mopars, Ho!

CJ

The drive up from Scottsdale was pretty neat. We met at the Fender Guitars parking lot at around 11:30 AM and hit the road about noon. Picture probably 100 Mopars from the 50s through current models all in a line on the freeway. The first stop was a mini car show and light lunch, provided free by the Chrysler dealer in Kingman. We stopped again at the Hoover Dam for a Photo Op then finally hit Vegas around 6:00. I believe some of the pictures are posted on the MATS website.

I'm flying down and were racing the my uncle's cummins, he lives in henderson. I'll drive my slant down either next year or the year after. I'm waiting on my uncle to finish his small block 440 (70 challenger), it just wouldn't be the same if we couldn't race against each other.

I was reminded today that this weekend was previously booked. :? It's a good friend's big birthday bash. It includes overnight accommodations and since it's for me and the wife it takes precedence over me going to the Vegas race. Maybe I can make Medford. Anyone have the May date for Medford yet?

That meens you will miss seeing the '63 Red Dart GT with a new engine and trans.
It looks like that will be the only way I will be able to run there as it's a Mopar body with a Mopar engine Race

Hi Richard 'The Sandbagger'....What this..a new ride? We need to know more about what you have been doing since Medford. Does the new ride know to leave on Green or Red????
Did Mike end up with a car of his own or should we be looking for something to put the old race motor into?
Photos available of the 63? take care, Wayne/Aric

Ceej thinks I should leave the moss on it. Right now it's a fadded red with a green moss coating (not really very nice to look at). It has a 225 with a 3 speed on the tree & a non-posi rearend. Am going to put a new 225 and an 904 with a ford 8" so as to be able to swap from my ford gear sets. will not have time to build a set of headers, but will run a 2+ inch exhaust. I also will try out the new custom cam (FT) in it.

I was just looking at the MATS website and it says that the class is open to vehicles with a Slant 6 motor. :D
