Attention: Do not take your radiator to Imperial Automotive in Torrance, CA on 20506 Hawthorne Blvd 310-542-9338.
They took the radiator in after I asked it to be re cored, and in three days it came back with a really bad weld job, over beaded to look like it was recored, and a beautiful new black glossy paint job. the inside was still rusty and there was still cracks on the bottom. This place came highly recommended by quite a few people so I took my part there. They wanted the money up front. so I paid, way too much at the time, I haggled and hesitated, man o man, I wish I listened to my gut. bottom line, I got jacked and still out a radiator, the core is junk and wondering if anybody bought a radiator from NAPA. 63 valiant 2 dr hard top 225 auto trans, p/s

Imperial will not talk to me, they shut the door as soon as I picked up the radiator. found out there are new owners right before I went in. out 5 bones.

Must listen to GUT

I hope you have some kind of receipt or paperwork.

Start taking photos now, then take the so-called recored radiator to a different rad. shop and have them remove the tanks then give you a written estimate on what work has been done and the work needed for the unit to be "right".
Ask if you can take some additional photos once the tanks are off.

Once you have all your photos, send a certified letter to the original shop that "jacked" you. Ask nicely for your money back, (or most of it, depending on what they actually did to the unit)

In your letter, include copies of completed forms to Small Claims Court and BBB complaint filing paperwork.

Kman,

I had this happen to me awhile back. In the meantime while your documenting everything and doing the good fight you might find a new radiator. I got a brand new Modine out of Portland, Oregon for about $125. It is excellent.

Good luck!
