The Farmington race will be the Saturday before Mothers Day. This will be a one day event. I will find out later if there will be a TnT/ Gamblers race on Friday night.

Purse will be a guaranteed $1200 from DCI. Anyone wanting to contribute prizes, rewards or $$$ to the event please let me know before the middle of March because I will be printing out flyers and mailing them at that time.

Mooresville event is gone and I think Piedmont is doing their own thing since my emails and phone calls have gone unanswered.

Between Farmington and NW this may be your only two races in NC this year so plan to attend!

I received a question about how the $$$ would be paid out.(ie W, RU...etc)

I have not made a decision about that yet. I have tried it both ways in the past, paying only the top 4 spots and also had a race that even the first rd runner ups got like $10. There was never any feedback positive or negative for either way.

What do you guys want??? Winner take all! :) Lets hear some suggestions.

Tom

I don't have a problem with how the payout has been in past years. If we wanted to spread the payout to more racers, I would suggest extending it to the quarterfinals. This way some of the newer racers might be able to finish in the '"money". Just my two cents.

OK thanks Brian! - what do think about this payout??

$350 W
$250 RU
$150 semis
$75 Qtrs

If one rd has an odd # then I can take that money and do something fun with it like a drawing from all the people that went out in the 1st round.(even split it up among all of them to help pay for gas.) Depending on how much it is maybe split it between two people. Suggestions?

Tom, I think that's a great idea for the payout! Especially the part about odd round prize money being distributed to 1st rounders. Hopefully this might attract more people to come out.

Hey Tom,

That is a great purse! And the breakout looks good from what I see.

I don't have a dog in this fight, but that's some good support you're offering to the Slant 6 racers! Thanks!

Thanks Rob. The more I look at the more I like it too. Especially if we have an odd number of cars and there is something to split/give away among the guys that finish out of the money.

I am also talking with someone about T-shirts so if anyone has a good design shoot me an email, otherwise you will be subjected to my artistic ability!

Hey Tom,

If you do wind up doing T-shirts for a Slant 6 Race, PLEASE save me one! I can never have enough T-shirts and I don't have any Slant 6 specific ones.

OK - I have a Mopar 2bbl Al intake headed my way. As soon as I get it I will look it over and make sure it is in good shape.

I would like to give this away as prize. Maybe put everyones name in a hat that is there racing with a single barrel carb on their car and pull a winner from only them.

It will only be the intake..I do not have a carb or linkage to go with it.

Thoughts??

Tom

Hey Tom,

I like that idea! Having a door prize like that for those guys that are just starting out or haven't upgraded yet is a great idea!

You gave me an idea... I'm gonna make a couple calls and see what I can come up with to donate as a similar prize (probably for the Valdosta race)

Thanks for the inspiration. Should we post something about this idea in the Racing Q&A Forum or in a separate Event Calendar thread perhaps? It may inspire some other experienced racers to do something similar.

Actually it does right now. I am hoping to find a gently used Offy 4bbl intake before then though. :D

Well, the guy that had the Clifford intake WITH carb and air cleaner sold it before I moved on it. I'll still keep my eyes open though. I really do like the idea of a good prize like that for new racers to help them get started.
