I digress that this is for my '67 C-body that I use to tow my race car and I can't believe I'm having guilt about this but it has a 440. Please forgive me. I currently run 235/60/15 and 225/60/15 BFGs and as much as I love the profile on my big machine, I feel the sidewalls are a little soft for towing. I'm wondering what you guys might think of running a L/T tire in a similar size, maybe a bit taller and what it may translate to in tire sizes. I'm currently going back and forth between 3.23 and 3.91 gears. All help is appreciated.

Pat.

Sorry, I'm running 15" cop wheels with standard back spacing and I believe they are 7 1/2" wide.

I run 235 / 15 LT load range C tires on my Buick Roadmaster,,,,and cruise them at 145km/hr with a load. No problem.

I think we are currently rocking "Wild Country XT" from Kal tire.

I used to have load range C BFG KOs....I hated them

check this out:

http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp

it gives you a side-by-side comparison and speedometer changes. i would go to a bigger wheel like a 16". i suggest going into a (or a few) tire stores and talk to them and see what they suggest.

I actually went to a couple of local tire shops and they really weren't much help. I think I'd like to stick with the 15" wheels but just something that could handle the load and not look totally dorky (really tall).

It is no problem to get 235/60/15 LT load range C tires. Just ask for a pickup tire.
