I don't like the funky rod for the SS so I decided to adapt the kickdown from the one barrel . Does anybody think this will be a bad idea in terms of it working right ? I have a CNC shop so sometimes I spend alot of time trying to solve a problem that probably wasn't there in the first place, LOL!! I already had a Lokar throttle so I will attach another arm to the shaft for it. Then use long bolts to mount the alum block to the inside firewall ( original threaded nut plate) and then use nuts on them to atach the bracket for the throttle linkage. Let me know what you think so far.

Looks like you are working with a '60-'66 car (w/rotating-rod type throttle linkage originally). There's always room for another good way to put a 2bbl on such a car...looks like nice machining work so far; please keep us up to date with additional pics! I can't yet quite picture what you have in mind overall.

Go for it. I HAVE a Super Six Kick down, but because the short horizontal lever that is connected to the transmission from the kickdown is the 1 bbl version, i still had to do some modifications to make it work.

I love custom fabs, my friend drives a 65 Alpha Romeo Race Car that is almost completely custom by himself and his family.

But usually (but not always) the cheapest, easiest, and most bulletproof route is use the OEM part as it was engineered to do exactly what you want it to do.

But hey, if it shifts where it is supposed to, stays in adjustment, and does not bind up on ya, then have fun and be proud of your ingenuity.

The night shots are not great but I think you can see the threads sticking out into the motor compartment from the long bolts. I will use these to mount the bracket that will hold the throttle cable. I will also add an arm to actuate the throttle cable. Everything lined up and moves very smooth on the bearings so far.

Oh, interesting...looks like you are going to use a short cable from this new aluminum bracket to the carburetor, yes?

Yes, the lokar cable I have can be cut to fit . I'm going to make the throttle arm length the same as the arm length on the kickdown now so the ratio should be the same. I should have a pic on Sunday with it working (let's hope anyway!).
