How much would any of you be willing to shell out for a good 170/ long block in rebuildable condition, assuming:

1. you wanted one
2. it was within a reasonable distance for pick up

Has anyone bought or sold one lately?

A guy in Houston tried to charge me $900 for a 170 and a 904. I laughed. I actually offered him $200 for both.

VDart: wish i had known you were scrapping that stuff, been thru wichita 6 times in the last couple of years....would have taken one of those off your hands.

I will take it away for free but I only pay for good running motors and even then not much.Around these parts (NY Metro area) they all want 900 hp blown 440's and hemi's Slants are throw away motors to these guys! Their loss is my gain!
