I have a 1968 plymouth valiant 100 2 door post.My question is wether all the windshields from hardtops & post models are the same? I was told when I went to order my windshield that it might not fit the post model. The windshield says it fits 1967-1975 dart, duster & valiant etc. So are there different windshields for post & 4-door models? All input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance, Ted

Interchange on your 2-door post windshield is '67-'76 Valiant and Dart 4-door sedan, plus '67-'69 Valiant and Dart 2-door sedan (post), plus '67-'69 Barracuda. Hardtop windshields (Swinger/Scamp type) will not work. Non-Barracuda fastback windshields (Duster/Demon/Dart Sport) also will not work.

Let me know your source if you find a new one. I got one for my 68 Dart 4dr last year and they said they weren't being made anymore. I'm hoping to pick up a spare. Mine was not cheap - about $360 for the glass.

it does not appear that the post & 4-door model are reproduced. So I guess I need to find a good used one. I think it might be a little tough to find a good used tinted windshield unless anyone out there has one??I would prefer to find one local so I can see it in person rather than take the chance on something so fragile.

Oh, now I am sure new windshields can be had for the '67-'76 Dart/Valiant sedans. It's difficult to find the much lower-volume windshield for a '60-'62 A-body, but it's possible, brand new, so I will come and eat your old windshield — no ketchup — if a new windshield can't be found fairly easily for your car. Sometimes it gets easier if you have a NAGS (National Auto Glass System) number to ask for, in case the glass place you call doesn't have applications that go that far back. At least one of the glass companies (PPG, I think?) runs a Classic Glass service that locates and provides new glass for old applications. And there are at least a dozen glass specialists advertising in Hemmings. NAGS number on the glass you need is DW-691. There may be suffixes (-C, -T, -S, etc.) to indicate tinting and shading. You may find you get a different reaction when you call a glass shop and ask for "installed price on a DW691".

If all else fails, a fair number of results come up when you search for used ones on www.car-part.com .

I'm a bit curious on how you knew (or quickly looked up?) the NAGS number in question? Where would others be able to find this information? Or is Dan, in addition to being a lighting expert, a glass expert? (I actually wouldn't be very surprised)

I don't know, but I'm pretty sure I remember that the 63-66 Dart, Valiant, Bcuda windshield is NAGS DW625. It is on this site somewhere, or I could find it at home... I bought (and had installed) a new wshld for my '66 Valiant 6 mo ago from Safelite for about $250, and bought a spare at the same time...
