I looked at the roof support, but in the Barracuda, it is a little too far forward for an effective 3-pt anchor spot.

Hop in seat....put arms through upper harnesses....click lap belt(almost identical to factory lap belt) .

The belts adjust just like racing Harnesses....but the belting used is smooth like factory belts....so adjustment is smooth and easy.

My 8 yearold grandson can do his up and adjust it lickety split.
( Kids have the least trouble....its the same as a child car seat in operation)

My sewing ladies had no trouble when told to do it like a kid car seat...."Oh !....just like Tiegans car seat!"

Frankly 3 point belts seem crappy now.

Ill try top find some pix on my computer at work later.....

Sandy, exactly how and where are your shoulder straps anchored?

RDJ, JB weld has no place in seatbelt mounting. At least no place where you count on it.
Also, how much are you willing to trust your welds and the welded area of the metal in bhe B-pillar? They will be taking all of the load.

Wesco Belts come with mounting kits...or they are a cheap option(cant remember) The mounting kits have instructions,,,,I follow them.

The shoulder straps "Y" to a single belt and in both the Valaint and the sub mount to the floor (with the correct mounting hardware). Essentially its done the same as a 5 point race harness.

I plan to move the anchor points in the Valaint to the package shelf bulkhead for a better angle.

Next question: could I put the 4-pointers in my pickup truck, which has a 1-piece bench seatback that flips forward for access to the junk-storage area behind the seat...would I lose this flip-forward ability?

I have fold down rear seats in the Sub with Wesco seats. You should be able to do the same. Worst case senario (normal situation for me) you would slack the shoulder harness before folding the seat.

As a habit I slack the shoulder harness when exiting the truck to make it easier to buckle up when I hop in.

The Sub has 12 way leather seats with 4 way inflatable seat back and inflatable lumbar support (95 Bonneville SSE with S4? option.....cost me $88 for the pair) ...on long hauls I roll the seat back a little ....deflate the lumbar support....strap in...roll the seat forward and inflate the lumbar support.....you are IN THERE. (oh yeah the seats have a tweesie compressor under the passenger seat and a remote like controller.)

I use the stock lap belt mounts for the lap belt portion

The sub shoulder harnesses mount to the rear seat forward mounting bolts.

Dan, you'd be better off finding a way to mount the belt near shoulder level.

From WESCO: "Next determine the exact location for the new shoulder bolt anchor point (preferably at or 0-8 inches above the top of the seat back and slightly to the rear of the seat back)."

More detail specifically for racing harnesses. Note pages 21-23.

This may or may not apply to what you guys are doing but if I replaced the factory belts with aftermarket belts I automatically fall into the 2 year old rule with the NHRA. They let me run my belts from 1968 but an aftermarket harness that is more than 2 years old will send me to the bleachers as a spectator.
Does that make sence, no. But rules are rules.
