I realize this is a slant forum, but you guys seem to know the most stuff! i have 2 mopars, one is a slant and one i am converting from a slant to a 318. I have 2 problems, the first is that i misplaced the alternator and power steering brackets and i am wondering if anyone has a set! also, does anyone know what headers or manifolds will fit this after the conversion. I currently have the engine in there and the power steering setup is soooo close! any help is appreciated.

go to your local junkyard and get all the brackets you need of any dodge van or pickup with a v6 or v8 before they went to serpetine belts i think pre-93? as for the manifolds or headers you will need what fits you chassis. :?

Can't answer any of this without knowing what make, model, and year of vehicle you're working on, and what year your 318 is.

I am guessing 61 Lancer, and a 318 poly.

(Let's make this challenging).

Y'call that challenging? Pish-tosh. Let's say it's a '59 Morris Mini. And yeah, a poly 318.

sorry,
i forgot to tell you what car i was working on. The car in question is a 73 duster. It had a slant six, i put a 318 from an 85 ramcharger in it. I used the schumaker engine mounts. Unfortunately, i did not get the alternator or power steering brackets. My local junkyards do not keep anything that old and i have been coming up dry. As far as exhaust, the engine did not come with manifolds, and there is only a few inches between the steering and the engine.

These guys reproduce regular PS brackets and alternator brackets, as long as you don't have A/C::

Hope this helps!
