headlights dimm while brake lights come on.

since i am prolly replacing most of my electrical stuff i might address every issue that is annoying me. so is there somthing i can do to fix this?
or is this normal.

btw the electrical section rocks thanks chuck and admins!

Thats just part of the old electrical system. It was barely ok when new. Are you going to rewire your car? If you do then go with the relays and up graded wire size as Dan suggests.

throw in som redundant grounds. and replace your voltage regulator if you havnt already. throw an extra ground to the case of the voltage regulator as well. make sure your alt is puttin out decent volts too. throw a multi meter on batt terminals while runnin, it should read at least 14 v

You should chock the wheels, have your wife set the e-brake, apply regular brake, drop it in drive after the engine has warmed up... then check things at idle...

you might also check your light grounds, as mopar tended to cheap out on these (I think yours are near the battery behind the grille... a big mass of small black wires going to one ground...if any are corroded or green, or the pot metal 'crimp' is worn out...time to replace...)

adding to d.idiot. turn on everything you can, heater, lights and stuff. make sure that alt can handle it... you can switch from B+ to ALT+ to see if theres a diff. that will be a volt drop in alt wire...
