Dan , why don't you braid that thing and add some beads! You know - do the Johnny Depp pirate thing-chicks would dig it!
True story: In 2000, I was in a major California city, shortly before lucking into a '63 Valiant wagon. I got on a streetcar and sat down. A couple stops later, this redheaded young lady of about...I donno, somewhere between 28 and 33 sits down next to me and says "Hi there, how are you", in that noncommittally-social way one might say "Good afternoon" to whoever happens to walk into the elevator you're in. I said "Hi there, hiya doin'." She reached over, ran her fingers through my beard a few times, and said "Better now."

Doc, Thanks for your h-pak help! I too have some concerns about Clifford. I called Larry twice when the intake was pulled off the web site. I was given several reasons about it being discontinued:

- the Mopar guys don't want to spend the money(I hope that doesn't mean we are cheap!)

-the foundry lost the molds and when they found them they were damaged

-the foundry retooled and could not cast anything that large and finding a new foundry would take some time

After two brief and confusing conversations the end result was no h-pak for a year or two and Larry wanting to fix me up with a $idedraft weber $et up. The reason I am interested in the wilder looking intakes is my slant is going in a roadster (In the next 50 years the way the budget is going) and the engine is exposed. All of that mentioned I guess that is why I am leaning toward the Aussies - these guys look like they live and breath Mopar stuff and that's a good thing!

Same ol' Clifford, full of dumb excuses. Which one will you get? Give 'em a jingle and find out! Don't like the one you get today? Call again tomorrow! It's almost as exciting as Las Vegas...

Make sure you know what you're about to get into, I would guarantee that if you aren't ready to do a few months of 'dialing it in', you might want to look at something else... Depending on your build and where you intend to drive it, the Clifford Hpak is not an easy 'drop in and go' (you will also have to make sure the open enginebay will support the carb being over the driver's side shock tower/coilover...)

You might want to read the journey down the rabbit hole under the 'Hpak' heading when I did the conversion in my feather duster... (also how's the morning temperatures where you're at, remember 'heated' intake with water, means you have to 'start and warm' the engine up... so far the setup really doesn't like ambient air temps under 50 degrees F... an exhaust heat source has taken care of that for me...)

FYI,

-D.Idiot

On the subject of the original Hyper Pack, I remember seeing one for sale on Ebay last year, and I found the exhaust manifolds pretty sweet. Just wondering if anyone has ever seen/used a set of these and how they compare to DD's or headers. I did notice that there seemed to be no provision for intake heat, but there's no denying that the whole package sure looked impressive. 8) Has there ever been any interest in reproducing those?

D. Idiot, Thanks for your advice! At this point I am really leaning toward the Pentastar intake - if that doesn't work I will go with the Offy 5041.

SlantSixDan, Please forgive me but I printed off pics one and three to use as a writing prompt for my sixth grade students. They had to tell what this mystery man did for a living and what his hobbies might be. Here are some of the responses based on your pics:

-Bigfoot's half-brother Bob

-Scientist that studies seals in Antartica

-Merlin (just add cloak, hat and staff)

-a trucker that works for Target

-a geologist working on predicting future Yellowstone eruptions

-Canadian Hunter

-sled dog musher

-logger

-KGB Agent

 Maybe we should put this to a vote! :D

target is like walmart but hipper marketing, ive discussed it with other friends, and we have this feeling that target is slightly less terrible then walmart, but we cant really decide why, being poor college kids, walmart is closer and gets most our business
