 Post subject: new carb lots of smoke

the engine was running great when the original carb went out. replaced the carb with a rebuilt 1920 holly from Autozone. The first one I bought was no good. This is the second. Once I installed it, the engine idles ruff and lots of blue-ish smoke out of the tail pipe when accelerating.

Is this the carb or another problem I should look for?

The problem is with "remanufactured" carburetors in general. They're junk. You'll keep swapping and swapping and likely never get one that works well. See this thread for more detailed information.

Did you keep your original carb?

yes Dan i kept the old carb. the jet was not getting gas in
