I just got off the phone with the owner of the Woodburn track.

He is fully prepared to run a points race for the Slant Six racers, regardless of car age.
The break over point is 1972, so newer cars will not be allowed to run the Nostalgia meet. (He's already catching grief about bumping it up to '72.)

Richard has all the pieces in place, and the track is willing to accomodate us. It would be up to SSRN to sanction the events.

Yay or Nay?

Richard has already put out a call for those who would attend this event. I don't know what the final tally was. Richard?

We need to get Seymour to give us the final ok for it to be a santioned points race.
But that is a very good start for a nice BIG set of points races for us on the west coast. All I asked for was one of the two races to be a trial for this year if all goes well we might get both races for next year.

I posted that I'd like to make the Woodburn races. What are the dates CJ?

According to Doc's sticky in this sub-category, June 21-22 and August 9-10.

If the first race can be scheduled as a points race, I'll be able to run in Slant Six, but will be barred from Inliner, which is fine. Those who make the semi-final rounds wouldn't be able to run the Inliner, unless they were willing to Hot-Lap according to the Owner.

The Woodburn track owner talked like we could run in the AM a couple of rounds, then finish up later in the afternoon. Something like that.

He was pretty open to the whole thing. As far as which one, we just talked about the Nostalgia races. Plural. It sounded like he was interested in having us there for his show.

So either/or both. I'd say see how many cars can definitely be there, and run the first one on the schedule. We likely could field quite a few cars from the area.

He would like to know how many cars at most we'd have. I told him at most 20 or so. More likely fewer. He was thinking we were going to run double eliminations I think.

I'm ready for a race at Woodburn! It would be great to have one that our local bunch could make.
If all else fails, I can always dust off the '64 and run inliner. Now all I need is a lump-head conversion, an Offy 4 bbl intake and an HEI. Quick little pickup!

:D

Basic stuff radiator puke bottle, not more than 12" of non-metal fuel line, all lug nuts, good tires, battery hold down (stock is good), seat belts and you are set

So make up a metal fuel line and get the battery tied down. No whining! If you come over I'll help.

I'm about 40 min from the I-205 bridge or 25 minutes past Battle Ground. I have at least two rides worth looking at, but only one slant car at the moment. If you really want to come over bring a 48" 5/16" metal fuel line and 2-3' of 3/8" round bar.

I bought some of that poly cover stuff, it looks like steel braid, and put it on my fuel line mod.
