Interesting Intake. Go to aussiespeed.com Enter the website and click the button for Hemi 6 manifold selection. Look for the long runner intake with the cross ram adapter and four barrel. Don't worry my next goal is to figure out how to insert a URL! :oops: I realise this is a diferent engine just wondering if this contraption of an intake actually works!

BTW, that cross ram adapter looks like an Offy ripoff. I don't know anyone that's tried one, but it seems like just the thing to kill low speed driveability and throttle response.

That is definitely one crazy lookin contraption. Looks like it'd put a good deal of extra torque against the manifold/head studs (unless it's all aluminum, then nevermind). Looks like the air/fuel mixture would have to go through a few twists and turns to get to the cylinders. I wonder if it works very well.

WOW! :shock: That is a maze of airflow problems.
Let's see......with a stock induction, we have to drop through the carb to the plenum, turn 90° into the runner, make the sweep through the runner, then make another bend of 120°, passing the valves to get the charge into the cylinder.
With that "instrument", we would be adding another 180° bend into it, as well as a large cross section of induction, (with cool walls), to assist in fuel puddling problems.
All for the sake of centering the carb under the hood.

and how much of a drop air cleaner do you need to clear the hood, or are we makin a hole in the hood.
maybe thats how gas burns on the other side of the equator

I almost think that's the point - to get the carb through the hood and make everyone think you have a V8 when you don't.

And your thinking is right.
15lbs carb is now over the studs instead of out on the end little a big lever.

Seems like it would flow better if turned 180 degrees; then the hole in the hood would be next to the fender. :roll:
Looks trick, but likely wouldn't work in the real world.

Quite sometime back Offy used to have offset adaptors like that that you bolted in case you had 'problems' under the hood, they do show up from time to time on Ebag if you really have to have one to offset the carb off the stock flange...
[edit] Offy still carries the 'ram' offset adaptor OFFY-5497 for about $170... they also have a small offset version for the Holley 5200....[edit]

One thing to take into consideration from a previous member sometime back, he added a 4" tall stack between his offy and the carb, this actually changed his power/torque curve a bit (and he had the room to do it under the hood of the truck...)
