The rubber bushings (A arm, etc.) in the right front of my '73 Dart, which were installed maybe half a year ago, look to be in good shape. But they squeak a lot! Just pressing slightly down on the fender will cause the squeak! Is there anything (rubber safe) that I can spray on them to quiet them up a bit? Or could it be ball joints? The strut bushings are good.
Thanks!

Were they replaced with rubber or polyurethane bushings? Poly is notorious for squeaking, rubber not so much. When I worked in the tire business we used a rubber lube called Ruglyde and just squirted it on the bushings but it never lasted long. As soon as the lubricant dried out again the squeak would often come back.

If, during installation, the lower control arm pivot nuts weren't torqued to spec with the car on the ground, they could be binding, and may even need to be replaced again.

They are rubber. The nuts are tight, but I don't know if they are torqued to spec. Anyone know the torque value?
Thanks!
