I received my Erson 270 cam and I have a question. The cam spec says .022 lash on intake and exhaust. On this board I've seen repeatedly that lash should be .010 and .020. Is it different because of it being a hotter cam? I just want to make sure I set the lash correctly when I get the motor back together. Thanks for the help.

the 10/20 is for the stock chrysler camshaft... all other cams come with their recommended lash settings (some more than others)... if the specs say .022 then it's .022 (most comp cam guys have .012, etc...)... the reasoning is in the grind and the profile of the lobe...

Start with .022 as already noted.
I have successfully run the intake valve lash down to .018 on this cam and like that setting a better, on the Intake Valves Only.

Lash clearances are "not set in stone" and like all mechanical parts there is some manufacturing tolerances and a working"range" on the lash ramp. Trying out some different lash settings is a major step in fine-tuning your engine combination.
