Slick 50 belongs in a frying pan and NOT in your engine. Read the articles that Dan posted.

I've never used Slick 50, but have been tempted several times. I have used Duralube and Prolong. Prolong seemed to do what it said in the TV commercial. However, it only worked a little while in the crankcase. It definately did NOT "coat the engine" for 50,000 miles as claimed. All this stuff is "snake oil" and marketing.
By the way, I am not critical toward Chuck R. for using Slick in the past. I am a nice guy and thankful for this site. I apologize, if my other post in this thread seemed a little too hard.

ProLong's great stuff if what you're trying to do is corrode your engine's bearings and critical machined parts. It contains a great deal of chlorine, which is very slippery (rub some bleach between your fingers sometime and see for yourself) and highly corrosive.

There's no such thing as magic in a bottle.
