Have not attempted it since I wanted to ask. I have a 88 Chevy Astrovan with a 4.3 that has a cracked block with relatively new parts on/in it. Looking at swapping the throttle body and associated equipment along with the electronic ignition, coil and so on. Will also reuse the sending unit in the tank if it will fit properly in the pickup's tank. Otherwise I will buy a new one. I am quite adept at fabricating the things I need.

I read the article about the batch fired electronic ignition from the 3.8l and it made me curious about the 4.3.

The article on Slantsix.org speaks of up to '85 being "Batch fired" so I am curious if it will still work.
