The disk brakes on my 67 A body appear to be some kind of 4 piston set up.
They look heavy and large. My question is can I find replacement calipers for these, or maybe swap them for something better. I think they are from a GTX originally? How interchangeable are calipers? Perplexed, pretty much as usual.

Sounds like the 73 and down Kelsey Hayes set up. Look at the disc brake section of any FSM for those years. Parts are becoming harder to find for them. I have heard of the rotors being made. But I dont know if the calipers are or not.

This is the '65-'72 (not '73) A-body Kelsey-Hayes 4-piston setup. It was also used (with some parts variations) on early Mustangs. Rotors and calipers are available, as are pads and caliper rebuild parts.

Dan, I know you've referenced Centric Parts for rotors in the past, but the website says they sell to dealers only... (although I haven't called them to see if there's a local dealer).

That's a good start, identifying the calipers, thanks. My new problem is the master cylinder that I bought is smaller than the one that's in the car now, which is 8 inches long, compared to the 7 1/2" one I bought. The one on the car has more fluid capacity. It has discs and drums, no boost. Any master cylinder advice? Or part number?

OK, I answered my own question. I looked up a MC for a 71 hemi Roadrunner, and got something that looks like what's in the car. PN M1523 from Vatozone. Reman in Canada, rather than China for the incorrect one I bought (and subsequently ruined whilst trying to remove the front check valve). I'm depending on you guys from Canadia now.

Remans, regardless of where they come from, are not looked upon favorably around here... Dan can likely find you a source for a NEW master cylinder, but it won't be cheap.
