i have been fighting a electical short on my tail light circuit on my Scamp. The circuit would occasionaly work, but then blow the fuse, i sometimes need to ride the brake pedal in the morning going to work.

Well while digging under my dash to change the heater control, i found what i think may be the power for the radio( my car doesnt have one), and taped it up.

Well after doing that, and replacing the fuse, the tail lights now come on with the headlight switch, but now the headlights dont work. I pulled out the whole instrument cluster, checked everything and put it back in.

My instrument panel has never worked, it illuminates both turn signal lights, when i turn the light switch on, but the blinkers work, and they blink on the panel with the lights off.

Now the parking lights work, but no headlights, which leads me to believe the switch is still ok. Which leads to my next question.

Where is the headlight relay?

There is no headlight relay. Headlamp power runs through the headlamp switch, to the beam selector kickswitch, and out front to the lamps. Check to see if the plug has come loose from the kickswitch on the floor. If it's connected solidly, test the kickswitch.

I take it you do have a good wiring diagram for the car...?
