With the help of many of you /6 affectionados out there I almost had the guage cluster working until I noticed one of the printed circuit strips lifted and broken from the circuit board, specifically the one leading from the 12V contact on the voltage regulator. Any suggestions on repairing this new glitch?? Thanks.

telephone wire soldered in somewhere.......

Doesn't have to be at the break, but just at 2 spots on each side of the break to make it continuous electrically.

I've fixed similar problems on other Mopar A-body and AMC boards very successfully using ~ #18 solid core wire. I just stripped off the wire's insulation, sanded any coating off the surface of the traces, cleaned, and solder the wire atop the trace using a good hot soldering gun and small gauge rosin-core electrical solder. The wire is rigid enough to hold everything in place and carries plenty of current.

The only trick is to get enough heat for the solder to flow well and quickly so you don't scorch the board beneath.

You can use the wire as previously described. If you want to know what is allowable for service in the reactor protection circuitry of a nuclear power submarine read below:

1. Epoxy the lifted foil run to the PCB if the foil run is in good condition. Clean the PCB surface with an abrasive pencil eraser, swab with rubbing alcohol and a Q-tip. Apply epoxy to both the PCB surface and the foil, tape down and leave it to cure (overnight is best).

2. If the foil run is too damage than use a solid conductor, preferably a tinned conductor. Frill two holes that are the size of the conductor at the two good ends of the damaged foil run--insert wire and solder until you acheive a concave fillet at the joint.

lots of their instruction manuals use phrases like that with mis-spelt words common.
