All I want to do is repack the wheel barings on the 67 Dart, and replace the flex brake lines. But, no, someone cranked the heck out of one of the bolts holding the calipers (factory disks)) and rounded it nicely so I can't get it apart. Impact wrenches should be banned... My half inch six point deep socket won't grab it. `

Is that bolt available new, or do I have to go to "Parts Wanted", and junk yards for one?

After a little more investagation this brake is not 67' A body. The disk is 11" dia., and bleeder is on top of caliper. What is it from?

That is whats commonly referred to as the "KH" or Kelsey-Hayes 4 piston caliper and rotor setup - it is stock for an A-body but I'm not 100% sure of the years - I know they went to the single piston setup in 73, so 72 was the last year for that in A-bodies but not sure about what year they started using them.

That set-up did not look like the photo in the shop manual, that is why I provided the photo. Thanks Pierre for for the ID. Now to find a new bolt.

I assembled my KH setup years ago so I haven't gotten close to one in a while, But I don't recall those bolts being anything special - should be hardware store item. Grade 8 preferable

The bolts are special, NAPA dose not have a listing for them... I did not try Walter P's as he is 100 miles away, Ill stop in and see his parts counter at a later date.

What I did was borrow a set of extractors, the kind the bites into rounded off messes providing a means for a wrench to be applied, and out she came with sub blood vessel bursting force hunched up under the fender.

All I did for a stop-gap solution was to dress up the flats of the old bolt with a file taking a sloppy 5/8" to a 15mm head. 5/8 ths. inches = .635", and 15mm = .600" across flat a difference of .035" to flat for a snug fit.

A Good hardware store should have this bolt. Forget NAPA for this kind of thing. The closer you are to an agricultural area, the more likely you are to have a Good hardware store in the area. Farmers fix things that suburbanites just throw away. In my area we have one old hardware store that still stocks pretty much every size, hardness and thread of bolt. I always know I can find what I need there. It's only a matter of time before suburban sprawl makes this hardware store outmoded, and unprofitable. Modern suburban hardware stores won;t stock anything not in a bubble pack with a upc label on it.
