First, love the articles about EFI conversion and fuel injection for street rods! I'm curious about the Flex Rail mounting system mentioned in Bob DiBiase's article. I went to MSD's site, and opened the Flex Rail file but it only left me drooling and unsatisfied. (I'm 42, married 19 years, ya think I would be used to it buy now) I guess what I'm looking for is more information, "how to", theory, PICS or something. I'm also wondering if anyone has done one, or at least found more information or theory on the subject.
Thanks, Dan M.

Is it specific info on flex rail efi's you're looking for or just EFI instals? I put in an extruded rail efi system. If that's what you're interested in, check out my website.

I've also been trying (unsuccessfully) to find Flex Rail information, preferably pertaining to converting a 225 to EFI. Gotta put my priorities first though and fix my Dart's suspension (okay it's not really mine, but it's kinda my baby :p) and handling...

I just sent an email to MSD in an attempt to find out more. I'll pass along any information I get.

If you are interested in the MSD flex hose fuel rail method be prepared for "sticker shock". The latest price list that I have (Nov. 2000) lists the following general trade (about 25% less than list) prices:
Injector top Mount -- $108.10, Pack of eight.
Injector Manifold Pocket -- $91.90, Pack of eight.
Retaining Clips -- $53, pack of eight.
This doesn't include the reinforced high pressure fuel line, barbed adaptors, or the fuel manifold and fittings that you'll need. This all makes Rance's price for a complete fabrication of the rail, alignment and welding of the bungs at the correct angle, and welding of the fuel rail brackets seen quite reasonable. Especially if you are using a new Offy, Clifford or MP manifold that you might ruin if you're doing your own machining . I included the MSD source as another alternative; not necessarily as a better one. Good luck whatever you decide to do. I think you'll love the final results.

Hey Bob, what angle did you have your injector bungs placed into the manifold at? Any optimal angle the injectors should point? I would think between 35 and 45 degress would be optimal...

Dan,
The injectors are mounted at an angle of about 30 degrees from vertical and about 1.5" back from the manifold to head flange. There's a picture of my manifold on Rance's site www.rancefi.com. Look under Mopar manifold types. (The throttle body isn't mine).

Here's another view of injector angles - 40 to 45 degrees

So I'm guessing the optimum angle would be just whatever gives the injectors a stright shot into the combustion chambers when the valves are open?

Too much more of an angle and my fuel rail would have interfered with the throttle body. Al used a side draft which allowed the injectors to be put in at more of an angle.
