Well I went to work on my Valiant a little more today at the shop where it's been sitting the past few years. The owner of the shop came out and asked me how it was going, told me a few things he thought the car might need and told me I couldn't work on it there anymore :( (insurance issues)

He did say that something was missing off the carb, something about when they got it running a few years back that someones fat foot broke it off. It does appear to be missing some sort of linkage on the right rear of the carb (along with the throttle return spring).

This is the first mopar I've had that didn't have a carter on it so I'm not exactly sure what the missing piece of linkage did. So what am I missing here, what does it look like, and do I really need it to get the car running? It looks like it could be a pretty simple piece for me to bend up, though I could be wrong.

Looks like the pump lever is broken. Should have a little arm piece and a small linkage rod connected to it.

Ok, I guess my next question is where can I find replacement parts if anywhere.

Also, does anyone have a photo of a non broken one?

Yes, you can find the linkage or make one. I will have to look through my junk, I may have one...

Thanks Ted, let me know. I've been cleaning on it like mad and I'm excited about getting it running, not to mention I need to get it running so I can mow!

I know I'm missing the linkage, but is anything missing from the white plastic "cam" that it hooks to? It looks like there might be something broken off from it....

Yes, the arm is broken off and the metal linkage is missing. I have both pieces in front of me in a little plastic bag plus the cotter pin.

PM me your address.

Hey there Ted! Yes I got the parts and I think they'll work great. I'm sorry I haven't gotten back with you sooner, I've been dealing with a pretty wicked staph infection and I just forgot. I'll try and get some money out to you this week to cover the shipping. Thanks again! Maybe this thing will run sometime soon....
