Looks like we've moved our departure time out to 10 am. If that works better for you Josh, let me know.

Bert and I will be leaving Yacolt about 3:45 Friday afternoon after he's out of school. We'll be rolling in pretty late. That's why I've been asking for someone to save us a place for the tent.

Josh

I think you could pitch two tents in Fopar's trunk!

We'll take care of getting you a spot Josh!

OK......my race car tranny drama is behind me.......JUST a simple broken converter, that then took out the pump gears....and the bushing.A fellow drag racer owns a tranny shop called Arcata Transmission, and he took it apart, added new gears, and seals and bushings......and looked at the clutches.....that were toast!! so new clutces went in, new gasket and filter....all for a couple hundred. Thanks to my brother for helping to pay for the tranny!!! I got the Hurst Quarter stick in tonight, and actually drove the car about 10 feet in the yard!! WWWOOOOOO-hooooo
So, we should roll into the ttrack Friday night, and sleep in our black truck.
Andrew

Cool! We'll be on the lookout for you! :D

The Hooptie has a Carter on it now. It seems to be working. I think some tuning is going to be in order though. It's almost but not quite right.

I'm looking forward to seeing your new 1/4 mile weapon!

I love a good "week before the race" thrashing session...
If it were not for all the work I get done the week before the next race, the race car would never get worked on.

Oh, I am still working on my car's fuel system...
See you in Medford!

Oh... wow!!! Ya know,... thrashing on the car, at the race, in the pits, between rounds is way more fun then working on the car, at home, in the dark & cold, dog tired from working the "day job"...
(don't ask me how I know! )

I'm up for it Andrew!

The Carter is starting to behave. It has some weird idiosyncracies when backing out, and almost but not quite full throttle power. Stumbles and lean surge. I'm still not getting WOT. Almost.

See you folks tomorrow!

LOL.....I will see if I have time to round up parts into a box before I load te car on the trailer tomorrow, The car went around the block tonight....it fould a plug or 2, ran like total crap......but it sort of shifted, so I know I got the cable right this time. I pulled all the plugs, and cleaned them , then refired it......ran fine. I think the old 1 bbl is on the last leg......any one have a extra to bring? I will try to get the 4bbl, and headers, and carb into a box for the trip......geez, this could be fun.......!!

1 bbl carbs on hand...

Rochester B. Even new these were a POS. Cheap in the worst sort of way.

Carter TF? -canibalized smogger- Chunks missing.

Carter YF, I could unbolt from my pickup, but the linkages would be funky. Very funky.

Nuthin' that would do you any good...

We should be there tomorrow! ...Test drive in the morning!

I smell like gas.

Last time I came through the Shasta area there was still bridge construction work going on. There is a section of one lane North bound, but it isn't very long.

We should be on the road around 11.

See everyone soon! :D
