I finally managed to get out of Grass Valley and had a great time in Redding. It was nice to meet some of the folks I've read about and corresponded with.

I have a bunch of pictures that I took with CJ's camera and I will get them to Doug for editing. If anyone has pictures that they want to get posted, just zip them up and e-mail them to me or Doug. If anyone can send videos, I'll see what I can do to post them.

As for Glen's car, I had the honor of repairing the broken cable linkage. That setup would make Rube Goldberg blush!

Sorry I couldn't stay for Sunday, but my driver (in the 66 Valiant Wagon) had to be back on Sunday for work.

Hat's off to Randy for putting-on a great BBQ after Saturday's racing!

Is Ceej helping with the cooking or first in line for food?

He was also taking photos... smile!

Everyone had a good time.

A nice location for a party, thanks again Randy!

Looks like Fopar was giving away some driving tips.

Wow... another SL6 racer has found his way over to the site.... cool! 8)

Yes, the Somoa race should be a good one, right at sea level and cool air off the Pacific.

It was nice to see Mike Jeffrey at this race although, we were both so busy that we did not get much of a chance to talk.

Once again, the group was able to pit under the big oak trees at the Reeding track.

Image

Many camped at the track and had nice set-ups:

So what drives into the pits... this cool looking chop-top SL6 powered Van!

Image

Image

Needless to say, everyone wanted a close look at this one-of-a-kind ride!
My son Allen wanted to sit in this cool ride but we could only fit his arm into it. (just kidding)

Image

Would you let this guy work on your car?? :?

Then another car rolls-in and get's everyone's attention:

OK.... Back to Racing!

My video is 14.66 minutes long. I didn't do too much editing. Most of the races has that music they were playing when they shouldn't have been playing it. I contacted the owner, and he found the same problem on Sunday, and stopped that. I wish he had been there on Saturday stopping that music while cars were on the track. It starts with a couple minutes of photos. And then you see from inside my car, as Amy was getting nervous, being the first time she has drove in a race. I can tell my timing needs work. And at the end, you will hear me go BRAKE BRAKE BRAKE!!! Again, this is just Saturday I was there. I hope to mail out a couple DVD later this week to a couple of you.

Amy did good!

Carson did a great job!

Heck, I went out right away! Darn old farts in /6 '53 Fords! That old dude is quick! All I saw was grill!

CJ

Informational: In 1953, Ford tested Mopar's Slant Six in the Business Coupe. It was extremely successful and was factory optional. One was built. The Bjerkland Special Cam was offered only in '53. Fopar told me so. It must, therefore, be true!
Dan, look that one up and verify validity.

hey some old guy was telling me about that in woodburn about a year ago. He's technicall not an amatuer any more since he's won so much money now right? By the way Dad is about ready to swap a slant 6 into anything, after seeing Fopar's rig.

That is Ed & PJ's car, it was a green colored "stocker" last year.
See the "project car" link on their website... Ed builds some nice cars.
