Hiya

This may well be the wrong section - so apologies if it is!

I'm after a workshop or service manual for a slant six 225 chrysler engine, can anyone point me in the direction of one or good books that will help me out?

The engine is fitted in a UK Dodge 50 (although it should be the same as those fitted in other vehicles).

Basically the water pump needs replacing, so I have a new one coming and we're going to have a go at replacing it - so any help/advice would be much appreciated - as we haven't dealt with this engine before.

If anyone knows of a workshop manual/ webpage that would be appropriate do let me know.

Cheers

Vornie UK

That is true, there is a Haynes book, but like most of them, it is worse than useless because of the errors and omissions.

Any idea what year the slant-6 in your '50 was made? What's the casting number on the manifold side of the block? What are the engine ID numbers stamped on the skyward-facing ledge of the block deck, below the frontmost spark plug?

The water pump's really easy. Nothing particularly tricky. Clean off all the old gasket, use some good quality heater hose to replace the short bypass hose that runs from the water pump nipple to the cylinder head nipple...maybe replace the thermostat while you're in the neighbourhood.

Welcome on the board!

You should be able to find something there. I ordered a manual for my 73' duster from them.
