Probably the original Hyperpak race car. They ran it up on the Salt.

Now where was the Hyperpak link that had those speeds?

Google should find it!

Take a look at http://www.valiant.org/lotus.html

It lists the top speed attained by the Lotus 11 Hyperpak car as 186 mph.

Do you mean fastest top speed or quickest/fastest 1/4 mile?

Fastest NA car I know of would be the Goodman Valiant - 10.50s on alky with a little nitro, 10.60s/70s on alky.

Cameron Tilley's roadrace 62 Valiant ran 12.2 or so with lots of wheelspin and a 3spd manual. With his newest dyno numbers, that engine would go low/mid 10s in a light drag doorslammer.

Charles Myers had a rail NA that ran in the high 9s.

LOTS of doorslammer cars in the 12s NA, and several in the 11s. Seymour Pederson's very light 62 Valiant has run mid 11s on gasoline, and Mike Jeffrey mid/high 11s in his heavier 68 Valiant.

High compression, a big cam and lots of cylinder head work.
Tube headers and a big 4 bbl carb or a side draft weber set-up is also needed for a fast N/A car.
