Hey folks,

I saw a post recently saying the NW race is July 12, but it is listed as July 19 on the SSRN dates list. I sure hope it's the 19th since my sister-in-law's getting married in our backyard on the 12th!

Can someone confirm the date?

I'm in for this one for sure if it's July 19.

Cheers,

Lou

Acording to Wilkesborro's website, the Ironman Classic, and the Slant Six race are July 19th.

I have it "penciled in". If time and money work out, I will be there, but will not know till shortly before the event. I will have to come up with the Toyota, instead of the RV (18 mpg instead of 6.5) so would like to share a motel room with someone.

Charlie,

Would be great to see you there. I would be happy to split a room with you.

MrMopar,

I'll see you in Pitt this weekend and you may want to split drive/ride with Paul Moran (Pitt). He may borrow one of my cars to race at NW.

Joe,

Hope you can make it, man.

Let's make this one a big turnout and show the rumble from the east siders. I think we can make it a 17+ car race if you all and the NC, GA, and TN boys make it.

Lou

It is looking more and more like I will be there. Lou, if you want make reservations, at the motel. I have no idea of which one, as I have previously stayed at the track, in the RV.

Are we going to have the cars on display at Empire Chrysler, as in past years?

To answer your question Charlie we will have our cars at Empire Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep Saturday morning around 9:00 or 10:00 am. until - when-ever...
Everyone that plans to race , bring you car and display it in front of the dealership. Its a good time to swap stories and talk racing. We have a real good purse and dont forget all racers will get a free event t-shirt.

Gates will open at 3:00 PM. and qualifying will begin around 5:00 PM.

Everyone that plans on attending please post it on here. That will help me to know how many shirts to order. You can also state you size if you wish.

Thanks and lets keep the huge car count streak alive. See you there.
Ron Hamby

Ron, is Friday correct? I thought the race was Saturday night, and we usually had the cars at Empire Saturday morning.

PS: Is Charles Myers planning on attending? Which car?

I hope to have 2 cars there, but at least one.

T-shirt size is L.

T'n't Fri night, by any chance?

Thanks for the update, Ron. Any chance you'll make Pitt this weekend?

Cheers,

Lou

Correction: Meet at Empire on Saturday Morning not Friday.
I also checked with Danny Dunn today on the TnT. He has it on Thursday only not on Friday He tried Fridays in the past and the car count couldnt support it. Sorry guys.
Danny also confirmed the gates open at 3:00 with open practice around 4:00. Qualifying will start around 5:00.
Lou I wont be able to make Pitt. I hope to make more events this summr and fall.
Thanks Ron

Thanks, Ron. We'll see you on 7/19.

Maybe I can meet Charlie for a t'n't somewhere nearby, like Farmington or Mooresville or even my local Radford, VA.

Charlie if you can afford the time, come up to my place Th night or Fri afternoon, we'll t'n't Friday eve at Radford, and head to NW in the morning on Sat (2hrs). I'll pay the extra gas money for you to come out of your way about 1.5-2hrs each way. Just a thought. Motormiledragway (.com) is only 12 mi from my house. T'n't starts at 6pm, gates open at 5.

Any other Slant takers for t'n't at Motormile can stay at my place Th and/or Fri night.

Cheers,

Lou

Sure would like to come down for what would be my 3rd wilksboro race. If I can split gas money and driving with Nick and then borrow a car from Lou again (sounds like it might all fall into place)

Hope to see you all in July.

Paul
