The cost of a good clutch and flywheel plus participating in the slant 6 bracket racing series is why I'm going with an auto for the time being. I do have everything else for a 4-speed swap though. 8)

I am still talking to the engineers at SPEC about putting this together as a kit. Is there interest in a group buy? If there is, I can see if we can get the price down some. ( Won't help me, but it will help everybody else.)
I'm game. Are we talking a racing setup or a DD setup?

I would be in as well depending on cost. I don't really need a clutch right now so I can always hold back. I'd really like a steel ring instead of the cast ring tho.

Ah, I was wondering if Josh would spring up  with that word - marcel.

I see the sprung hub, but I don't like a marcel in my disc, personally. Looks like that one doesn't have it.

I'd be interested in one of those kits, and in an aluminum fly if they would make one.

Thanks,

Lou

Sorry, I should have included that in one post as well.
  • 9 inch style clutch
Bolts into the standard 122 flywheel
    Diaphragm style pressure plate
Rated at 300 ft/lbs torque, due to Kevlar clutch plate (Organic plate maybe cheaper?)
Clutch plate hub can be with Mopar or Ford T5 hub splining (or I suppose other ones for real adventurers.)
On a side note, there are at least three of us that would be interested in Aluminum flywheels. Anybody else? I think we would need to come up with 10-20 people to get that going.

Whatta ya think?

Greg

Hey Greg,

Thanks for your work here. I am in for a set for the T5 trans. I would gladly send you the money if you can manage the group buy. I may be in for two discs - one kevlar and one organic.

Did you weigh these pieces? I would really like to know for each part. If the PP is really light, I may want 2.

Lou

What's the difference between the kevlar and the organic discs? I assume the kevlar is a more race-oriented application?

Greg I am in for a T5 kit, and would love an aluminum flywheel if we can work that angle. I thought he had a high number for the run though..something like 20? Either way, I want the clutch for sure.

I would also suggest that you kindly ask Spec if you will let them take individual payments even if it is a group buy. Gathering everyone's cash, especially when the group buy swells, is time-consuming. Thanks for doing all this hard work for us!

MJ

I'm in for a Mopar set with the organic disc (which I assume would be better for just a mild DD). When are you looking at placing the order? My next paycheck (the 1st) will be short since I got overpaid this month (stupid finance didn't stop my hostile fire pay when I got back), but I'll be able to use my paycheck on the 15th of July to pay for it.

The aluminum flywheel would be awesome, but how much would we be talking for that?

I am going to be on the road for the next few days, but it looks like we are one or two short of being able to meet the minimum number that SPEC is looking for. Any other takers?

Thanks,

Greg

Thanks again Greg for all of your hard work and planning in helping to bring this forward. I'm sure a few more will come out of the woodworks here ;)
