Yes, I am aware that this was probably not the smartest way to acheive what I was after, however, it was cheap, fast, and easy. Just like me

And This is how it was done...





Basically a pair of passenger car Volvo 240 springs, with 3 coils cut down, and putting the taper mount onto the rubber bump stop... it fits right over the top.

Nope no floods, but I do get alot of looks from people looking at a Dart with the same ground clearance as some smaller 4X4 trucks. It stays more or less right there no matter what I put in there.

If we ever did have a flood, I would be good to go.

I would be worryed about safety. What keeps the springs from coming out if you were to hit a bad bump? I could see that really tearing something up.

Since the coils are cut, it sits at a slanted angle, and they were hard to get put in there anyways. I am going to get U-bolts and associated hardware to hold them down securely. I have been driving it over every bump and pot hole I can find and nothing has moved so far.
Soon as I get a chance though they will be strapped to the axle VERY securely.

Make sure the slant of the springs is not the same as the slant of the engine or you'll have a horizontal 6 !!!

i did that to the rear of my truck but i used hose clamps to hold them in place for extra saftey. i have a set of air shocks being shipped down from my brother's shop. www.westcoastdieselandauto.com i am still finishing the website and its cheazo cause i am being paid in old auto parts.

I believe the term is DONK. except you dont have bling 24" wheels that are worth more then your car. I vote for getting a set of stock steelies resized to 24's with dog dish hubcaps. that'd really turn heads
